Safe Recommendations

Looking for a 50-gun safe recommendation, aside from Second Amendment/Bluedot Safes. I have one and I'm getting rid of it

I have some safes which are fire rated at 1600f for an hour or more. But I have researched the field in the last few years and learned that the fire rating does not mean the same for every manufacturer. One company that I found but is too expensive for me to purchase their newest safe, is Secure It. They make a safe called the TRUE gun safe. Maybe it is in your budget. Check out their vids before you make a purchase.

I'm partial to Amsec - http://www.amsecusa.com/product/rf703620x6/, but that one won't hold 50 long guns.

Just for representative pricing, Dean Safe has it for $11.3K. (They say MSRP is $15K)

If u want an RSC then get a sturdy safe or a bf series amsec. Those are the best RSCs out there. Fire rating is a giant scam as your guns will be destroyed by the moisture in the fire retardant. If you want a safe that can actually protect from burglars then you should get a used plate safe (as in made from steel plates)and make your own interior with the built in shelves, rifle rods, and whatever handgun racks you like. I’ve had good luck with socal safes but any large safe store has plate safes in the back. Once you mention that term then they stop trying to sell you the low quality but shiny gunsafes. Blue dot previously made custom plate safes so you can start there by asking if they have any used ones. You should pay less than $2 per pound and they should give a warranty and big discount on delivery.

I've never considered it to be a good practice to keep 50 firearms together in one place. Maybe that's just me.

Not keeping 50 in it. Additional things like ammo, magazines, spotting scope, etc. A couple of cases of 45 ACP or 9mm take up a bit of space.

I'm done with Bluedot. I'll explain it later, once I get some things sorted out with them.

I went to my local Liberty dealer, and bought a Summit Denali. Not as shiny as the Liberty, but much better built. I'm shocked by the price increase in the last 5 years. Mine's equivalent to the 5072.
