    Combo Trigger Lock?

So I looked thru some of the DOJ locking devices, hoping to find a trigger lock that is combo based, but I seemingly found nothing (well I didn't go over every entry...)

For example, this is doj approved https://www.amazon.com/Pro-Lok-Trigg.../dp/B002E6UZQW but then its keyed.

    While https://www.amazon.com/Master-Lock-C.../dp/B00004SQM9 isn't.

And yet https://www.amazon.com/FSDC-Californ.../dp/B01DWAMPDE is. And this almost exact but with keyed master lock again is on the roster https://www.amazon.com/Master-Lock-1.../dp/B0009V1WNY.

Yes, our laws are a bit weird and all, but anyone know where can I get a combo trigger lock that is CA DoJ approved?

What is your specific reason for wanting one?
Is this for child-safe storage at home, or some other reason?

Here is a type of combination lock:

home storage / compliance purpose, I live alone and no children should be in my place.

from my reading of the law, I don't think you need to store it (a pump mossberg 590a1 with eotech 512) with a lock in place when there is no kids around but I don't think you want to store it unlocked without something...

Safe is out of the question, and I would still have it accessible for HD but not in my cabinet thing (the cheap thin sheet stuff that counts as CA DOJ safe), and almost all the bedside locks don't take optics or side saddles.

obviously transporting too, but I would like to have a combo version so no need for keys, IE the one that came with this thing...

For HD, I'd leave it unlocked. My pump shotgun is unlocked, close-by, six shells in the magazine, five more in a shell-holder on the stock, none in the chamber.

If you have kids, a lock is smart. If not, I wouldn't do it.

"DOJ Approved" locks are not required for at home security, they are only needed for the transfer of a firearm.

Buy whatever fills your requirements, irregardless of others opinion.

OK, ya... The Zore wouldn't work with the Mossberg.

As far as storage at home, these locks do not provide any real security. The issue in your situation, as with mine, is not legal exposure should a minor gain access, but rather theft.
These locks ONLY serve to provide legal protection should a minor gain access and cause harm, and even then, there is no exposure unless the minor has reasonable access.
No minors have had authorization to be in my home in almost 20 years.

A safe covers both child safety and theft. When you are home, safe open, shotgun out and by the bed. When you leave, keep it loaded and lock it up.

Hmm yeah, to the people who leave it unlocked, isn't that umm bad for theft? With that being said, I guess the only real way is the safe, since the only other alternative is something like a DV652.

Which costs as much as the 590A1...

But, with this knowledge that CA DOJ certification is going to be bunk when there is no child around, I think maybe I can look for cheaper alternatives.

There are other reasons why one might want to keep a gun secured when there aren't kids around. For example, I got a pretty good hunch that it would suck to walk in on a burglar who found your unsecured gun and then shoots you with it.

Quick access safes add literally 2 seconds to the process and can be locked and unlocked easily when you're home.

OP, here are a couple examples of options for a shotgun. If you google, "under bed gun storage" you may get some more ideas.

                  Trigger lock. False security?

well, after all of that, I just picked up a super nice under bed safe that isn't on the roster that was on sale

290 dollars and I can stuff both an AR and my mossberg into it only issue is it needs 4 AAs and it came with none. At least the key works without any batteries.

It feels like a real safe given how heavy it is and seemingly with thick enough steel.

                    This should serve well.

i have two of these; i choose combo b/c if i lose a key, i'm screwed.

downside is once u push the button down to release, the two parts fall apart. would be nice if the two were interconnected w/ some lanyard or chain so you cant lose both easily.
