    Gun Cases

I'm looking for a gun case that I can use to carry handguns to/from the range. Any reccomendations? A quick amazon search showed several made by a company called Plano. I'm looking for suggestions on a decent manufacturer.

    Thanks!

I'm partial to the midway competition bag. My theory is why carry two things if you can condense it all into one. I've had it about 2 months and it seems to be well built and holding up on my weekly range trips.
It is a ittle large and they have a smaller one also. I can carry 3 pistols with mags, 10 ak mags, and 500 rounds of ammo plus all the range necessities and have plenty of room to spare. You're only limited by how much weight you can carry, it does get heavy when it's all loaded up.

It looks nice but I need a lockable case because I'm going to use it to transport my guns to and from the range. Don't want to break any open carry laws.

      Thanks!

I've had several gun cases similar to the link you provided but I didn't like the combo of having the guns lay on their sides and the open cell foam which would retain dirt and oil very easily.
I highly recommend case club. http://www.caseclub.com/
It's more expensive but IMO well worth the price. I love my my 5 gun case.

It's especially handy at the range.
No need to lay out all your guns on the bench.

Get a Ridgid or DeWalt hard case from Home Depot and add foam inserts to protect your firearms. They are lockable with padlocks. I'd much rather have my neighbors think I am carrying tools around then heat.

I have a few Boyt soft handgun cases (like these: https://boytharness.com/product/sing...1-style-autos/ )

I add a simple mini pad-lock to the zipper. I like them (have had them for a long time) in part for the padded interior and the magazine pouches on the side.

Throw them into a duffel with eyes, ears, targets, uplula, etc., and good to go.

                    Yes.

Buy a metal tool box with a padlock hasp and use that. No cop can argue that it isn't secure and it doesn't scream "GUN" like a fancy range bag. Use a day pack or a gym bag to carry ammo and other supplies.

Just put a small lock through the the zipper tabs of any range bag. It doesn’t have to be a hard case.

I really like the Midway Comp bag too... room for cleaning crap, hearing & eye protection, ammo and pistols all in one. Only drawback is it's not lockable. But if it's in the truck I think that's ok...

                            You think that's OK ?

Are you really willing to risk a felony on your record, loss of job, thousands of dollars in legal fees etc. on something you only think is OK ?

Leaving a gun in an unlocked bag in the bed of a truck is actually not OK.

Ya I love my midway bag but if I didn't have a trunk I would have a lockable case or a lockable truck box. SUVs are tough though. Your stuck with a lockable case.
