Optimal barrel size for caliber .308 ar 10?

What are you trying to accomplish with it? If you're asking about length, I've heard that generally, 22" is the best in terms of velocity. But if you're reloading your own ammo, it really depends on what kind of powder you're using. The answer to the first question is really going to determine a lot.
