    XC1 durability?

just bought an XC1 from a LGS and considering returning it..

pulled it out of the box to play with it and honestly, it just feels weak...

overall it seems okay but the two activation button the back (closest to shooter) seem very weak and flimsy...(not what i expected from surefire)

the buttons kind of hinge and just don't feel very strong...

I've read one of two cases of people breaking them off some how, so I'm curious from my fellow calgunners if ya'll have had any issues with it...

    1. what issue did you have with it?
    2. How did it break?
    3. when was your purchase date? (maybe the first ones released had more issues than current ones)

    etc. etc.,

    would you buy another one?

I own many Surefire products, including their entire handgun light lineup and the XC1 was the first I have ever been disappointed in.

I have the same issues you do; the buttons in the back are the weak link. The right one on mine would occasionally fail to work. After playing with it for 10 minutes, it now works fine, but I've lost confidence in it.

I was thinking that the next time I was in the neighborhood, I'd go exchange it at their HQ. Do they allow people to do that?

My toggle switches were actually too stiff on mine and had to press down hard for the light to activate. But, I had to send my light in for repair because my light would shutoff from simply dry firing the gun. Surefire sent me an entirely new light and it took two months to receive it. I shot a few hundred rounds throught my G23 with the new light installed and I haven't had any problems so far.
The less you give a damn the happier you will be.

          when was this?
I'm curious if the first run of these had issues..

hoping they worked out kinks and that the new ones are built better..

i figure thats normal for most products..
heck, even gen 4 Glocke had their problems at first..
