ammo storage

I live in Sacramento. Looking at storing ammo in a safe int he garage. Pros? cons? any ideas or suggestions thanks

Put ammo in cans, make sure the lid gaskets are in good shape.

Throw a dessicant packet and a moisture indicator strip in the can with the ammo.

Put a dehumidifier in your safe, if you don't have one already.

Put 3 dehumidifiers in your safe.
I started with one "Eva dry" that would show full of moisture after about 2 weeks. I added 2 more and they all 3 show full of moisture after about 2 weeks.

I had those Eva drys but I got tired of recharging them so I put a golden rod in the safe.

As stated, ammo cans with desiccant. For long term storage, I put ammo in a heavy ziplock bag with desiccant and put the bags in an ammo can with desiccant.
