WWII. A model 1934 Beretta in .380, made in 1938. My father picked it up in Italy during the month he waited before he invaded the of the south of France. He made the holster.

WWI. A Spanish Izarra in .32 ACP of unknown date. It's a rare long barrel version. Definately war time era. He also made the holster. And the sweetheart grips he made from some downed aircraft canopy. The photo is of his kid sister who was about 15 in the photo. He had no wife or sweetheart at the time.

WWII. And finally, a 1942 Mauser made Luger. He purchased it in 1947, I believe, for 35 dollars from a gun dealer in Missouri. It's been polished and reblued so it has no collectors value. But it's all numbers matching except for the magazine. And he apparently got inspired by the sweetheart grips he made for the Izarra, so he got carried away with the ones you see in the photo.

I also have the original grips for it as well as the Izarra.

He had US Marine armorers at the Barstow depot accurize it and fit it better for his large hands in 1965, in the early 1970's after his service in the US Marines he sent it to Colt for refinishing.

Weird to think that 50 years from now, our Mk18s and M4s are gonna be in this section.
