1841 Civil War Musket? Help

About 20 years ago I came into possession of a musket which I think is an 1841 and I need help identifying it. The musket bears no manufacturer name. and the only numbers are F83 on various locations. I wonder if it could be a Confederate copy of a Springfield. The barrel is not rifled and has no rear sight.

I don't think it's a 1842 Springfield .69 cal musket. The lock plate is different. It could be a Confederate import from Europe but additional pics are needed.
