I have found a search of sold auction items on Gunbroker to be a reasonable way to value firearms and related items. Condition and scarcity are the primary factors affecting value.

As said above, your request need more info. Specifically good detailed photos. There were many versions of the Egyptian FN-49. Some factory original as well as a few different versions made by Century arms.

The below pic is of an original all matching excellent condition Egyptian FN-49. Finding one in this condition is rare. So this would be the top of what a original should look like. Wal;nut stock and handguards. Brass butt plate and Brass stock disc.

Century Arms bought ALL the remaining Egyptian FN-49's which were in storage in Egypt back in the late 1980's. They also bought all the remaining stores of spare parts Egypt had.

Century sold original rifles in various different conditions. Once they ran out of original rifles they had numerous barreled actions as well as rifles with broken stocks. Century started making their own stocks and handguards and started selling rifles with those stocks and handguards. The stocks and handguards were made of light colored birch and were stained dark brown.

Below is a pic of a Century rebuild (top rifle). This is a early Century rebuild as it has a FN made brass butt plate. Later Century rebuilds had a black plastic century made butt plate. The Century rebuilds had a dark parkerized finish, as opposed to the black paint on the original FN made rifle. You can see the differences between the original FN made rifle (Bottom) and the century rebuild above it.

All of these rifles both the original FN and the Century rebuilds had the Egyptian crown crest as in the pic below.

Now here's where it gets even more complicated. Egypt originally ordered 1,500 spare receivers from FN so they could produce some rifles on their own. These spare receivers had a different crest on the receiver. The crest was a stamping of the "Eagle of Saladin". Egypt never made any rifles using these receivers and they were sold to Century along with all the other spare FN-49 parts. Below is a pic of that crest.

Century assembled approx. 1,500 rifles using these receivers. Most had the stained Century made stocks.

I have one of those rifles, but I replaced the ugly stock with a genuine FN made stock. One made for Belgium, with the steel Belgian type butt stock. See below. The pic is old. so low quality.

Below are pic's of a original Egyptian brass butt plate and stock disk.

In conclusion when considering the value of a Egyptian FN-49 one needs to consider all of the above information. If you want a shooter, a Century rebuild will be fine. Some had new original barrels.

If you are looking for a collector gun original condition guns will command a higher price.

Some unscrupulous sellers try and pass off Century rifles as "Like new", failing to mention that they are rebuilds.
