The 1903 looks like it was improperly stored and is starting to rust. Assuming both rifles are otherwise in VG condition, a ballpark would be $700-ish for the 1903 and $800+ for the M1 carbine. -
I second this......although the "rust" could just be caked grime. Both guns look filthy, especially the wood.
Bobby's values are spot on, but a careful and thorough cleaning might reveal the guns to be nicer examples.Comment

If he has the boxes and paperwork they came with, it will up the value quite a bit. The shipping labels usually had the serial numbers written on them, so I mean the box, with the shipping label on it, with the matching serial # to the rifle. They also had a receipt showing the $17.50 for the rifle, and $2.50 for the shipping.Comment
