P14 and P17 Enfields

OK. I reported before that my father gave me a 1917 Eddystone he had sitting in storage for years. Turns out it is missing a few parts but not too many.

Do the parts between the 1914 and 1917 Enfields interchange? All I need is a lower handguard, 1 trigger guard screw(long one), and the screw that holds the leaf spring for the rear sight.

Numrich lists parts for the 14 but not the 17.

You are 10x more likely to find M1917 (not P17) parts than Pattern 14 parts. A lot of the small stuff in interchangable and the wood is interchangable between the two but not correct if switched between the two models. Dimensionally the parts made by the three manufacturers can differ a tiny bit which will result in a touch of hand fitting.

Thanks, I tried every version of 1917 and couldnt find it. Hope they have the bits in stock.

If you still need small parts call mlitary historical arms in Glendale CA, he has a bunch of parts for military surplus guns. He bought a bunch of stuff from FedOrd when they went under.

While you're ordering, get a spare ejector spring (#3 on the Numrich diagram). You'll probably need it.
