    recieving c&r rifles

Is it not legal to have a C&R rifle sent to my door? I have both a C&R and a COE. I have just been told it isn't legal in Ca. since 2014.

Perfectly legal to have a C&R long gun shipped to your door with both 03 FFL and COE.

Perfectly legal for long guns with 03FFL+COE. I've had a few shipped to my door.

        As everyone has said here

In fact, I will be getting a Enfield no.5 Jungle Carbine shipped to my door tomorrow.

Here are a few of things:
        1. The seller only needs to have a signed copy of your C&R on file. The COE thing is a California thing and matters not in the slightest to the seller.
        2. Technically, you take possession of the rifle here in California. Once you do so, you must file that paper work, and send in the money to the CADOJ, (self register). You have 5 days to do this.
        3. You can only have long guns shipped this way to your door.
        4. All C&R firearms are exempt from the FSC requirement
        5. You MUST do a regular FFL/DROS transfer for C&R handgun transfer.
        6. All C&R pistols are exempt from the CA safe-handgun roster
        7. Magazine capacity restrictions apply to all C&R guns
        8. You may travel out-of-state and acquire a C&R eligible handgun. Fortunately, California CANNOT overlord the restrictions on other states ... (thank Heavens!)
        9. All personally acquired out-of-state C&R handguns must be self registered within 5 days of crossing the border, (taking possession + import into CA)
        10. All C&R transfers are exempt from the 1-in-30 handgun rule and the 10-day wait rule ... provided you have your C&R + COE

In short, here in California, there are a ton of infringements you need to be aware of ... even for C&R licensees. Plus; your C&R is worthless here in CA without the COE.

In order for you to get a COE, you must pay the (almost $100 fee, and get a Livescan). The Livescan is what all those police officers and other types, (Teachers from what I hear), must submit to in order to enter their profession.

Maybe next, it will be a full cavity search required for all firearms owners here in California???

The guy I'm buying from is filling out some form for shipping. I will have to ask what it is. I called the CADOJ and they told me it's ok. I've had 10 Mosins sent to my door so far.

I think you have 30 days to self register? Unless you bring it in from out of state yourself?

A CL # is only for a firearms dealer (01, etc). As an 03 you are a collector, not a dealer. Unfortunately, I'm not sure what PC to refer you to so you can convince the seller.

Correct. You have 30 days to self register if it is an in state acquisition. In state includes mail order to you your door. Form BOF 961
All in state handgun acquisitions must go thru an 01, including mail order, so no self registration needed.

Post pics when it arrives! One of the few sort of freedoms we still have in this state, at a price.

                        Mail order is in-state?

Dang! ... that is really good news. I thought I had only 5 days to self register. Now, it looks like it will be 30. I am supposed to be getting a C&R rifle via 2-day priority mail today.

                        Thanks for the clarification.

                            CFLC only applies to dealers.

Is it a guy in Virginia? A friend of mine asked about shipping C&R guns to California, and I think he had a M27
