Accurate Mosin PU load, at least my 43 PU seems to like it :)

Experimenting a bit with different targets (dots, squares, triangles) so i can take the most precise aim.

Any input on what you guys are using as a target mark for your PU?

5 shots, 32.5 grain AA5744, rem mag prime (probably doesn't have to be a magnum primer), lapua brass, .311 SMK, 2.97 OAL, 100 yards, sandbags.

Top 2 holes are 2 bullets each, bottom one is 1 bullet.

Not stringing, last bullet went into the middle hole, making it a bit bigger.

I couldn't shoot that group with a Mosin if my life depended on it.

Very nice shooting! I have read that .312 dia. bullets can be even more accurate in many mosin bores. As always, slug your bore first to determine your barrels actual dimenesions

looking good. I have many rifles that are capable of shooting nice groups, the only problem is that I'm not, lol. Far as loads go, sometimes one will work for many, sometimes, it's up to the individual rifle whether it likes a certain load or not. That's why handloading is such an adventure. I've come up with some that were winners on the first try. Others i'm still trying to find a load that'll shoot. All part of the fun.

I don't think any of my milsurps are that precise, or more accurately, I am not that precise with them. I can get the best groups from my K-31 but that is with a scope.
