S&W Double .32 Action- Need Value?

    Hey all
Need someone to look up the value of a gun I am going to be listing for sale soon. It is a S&W Double Action 32 cal revolver in the original box with the original cleaning brush.

Anyone with information as to how much it is worth, please let me know. I am looking to sell it in the near future if it is worth my while.

Based on the serial #, I'd say it was a 2nd Model, as there is currently a 2nd Model on GB for $250 who's serial number starts with 104***. Yours would obviously be more due to having the original box and condition.

SCSW says a 2nd Model .32 Double action in excellent+ shape should fetch $450 up to $650 for like-new in box.

The gun looks to be in excellent shape, but not unfired. Since these guns were made in the 1880's-1890's, the question of finish will come up. It is possible that your specimen has been refinished. A only a close inspection could reveal if it has been refinished or restored.

Another check would be to see if the hard rubber grips were serial numbered to the gun and are originals. The grips themselves, if original, have considerable worth of their

            Serial Numbers...

I checked the underside of the hard grips and found the same serial number but it looks like it was scratched into the grip and not stamped. Is this what it should look like or is it an after thought.

Is there a place in the Sacramento area that i can have the gun appraised or should I just wait for the Reno Gun Show?

Guns shows is where you go to get scammed, too many sharks in the water.

Check the market, Gunbroker, GunsAmerica, Gun Digest and recent live auction sales. If the guns finish is original and all other parts are original w/box consider adding 20% to the price.
