    M1D scope mounts

Just before the end of the year I decided to finally buy an M1D from CMP. They are now out of service grade by the way and field grade are really rough. I've been looking for an original USGI scope mount because I'm told all the reproductions are garbage, but the three I have seen for sale on ebay and gun broker are running just under $500. The price seems too high because no one is buying. Anyone know where there might be a supply of these for a realistic price?

Sarco has aftermarket reproduction mounts, they are not USGI. Most of the aftermarket mounts will not tighten up properly and will not hold a zero.
OP, watch the CMP forums for someone selling a USGI one or try a WTB ad there.

There is a guy in the Netherlands that sells USGI scope mounts for the D. They are around and aren't that expensive, compared to C mounts.

Here's an expensive one....looks to be GI. I guess this is the one you saw...

westland*nl usually has them too, a bit cheaper, but has none listed now.

Prices are crazy but it's worth it for the original, try and find a deal with a good USGI scope. Gun shows are also a good place to haggle. I could see spending $1200 on a mount/scope combo that was in great shape.

Post a wtb in the cmp forum. Last I checked they were going anywhere between 2-300. Might look for a package deal with the original scope. Prices on those vary greatly

Yeah, I'd try the CMP forum. I think I paid around $225 for a USGI one a couple of years ago.
