How are Tokarev (and variants) in terms of performance? The price of a nearly 200 dollar pistol always appealed to me and I picked one up at turners and it felt really good in my hands. However, I read that Stalin's most infamous executioner, Vasili Blokhin used German pistols to execute thousands of people. This made me question the performance of the handgun. Either way, I suppose a Tokarev is still a neat gun due to historic value...

Yep, love mine. Spits fire and flings brass. Cool cartridge, fascinating history, aesthetically pleasing. For $250-300 dollars they are an incredible value.

My Romanian tokarev is pretty accurate. Could reasonably reliably break clays sitting on a berm 55 yards out.Comment

I can't remember mine jamming.
Guns seem very reliable and simple durable design. Like the way magazines feed, does not rely on magazine lips, but rather they feed using heavy steel lips as part of the trigger group. Magazines can be bent up some, but would still feed.
Note long time extensions to the right of this picture.
Seems to me a great idea not sure why it never caught on.
Cheap surplus ammo not available anymore. You will pay 10 cents or more per round than 9mm to shoot.
