Shot My Krag Yesterday...

...and I have to say, that I am REALLY impressed.

It's about 10 times more accurate than I thought it would be. I was shooting 2-3 inch groups a 50 yards without even trying that hard. My brother went with me and had similar results.

What really amazed me was the overall "comfort" of the rifle! I know the 30-40 round isn't much in the "power" department but with since is has much less recoil, it was just fun to shoot.

If any of you out there are looking for a surplus rifle to add to your collection, get yourself one of these!!!

I think everyone else had poor luck and got junk with that drilled out bore and stuff and I believe one person said CMP stopped sales due to complaints.

I think you should play the lottery this weekend since you appear to have a lot of good luck going for ya!

Nothing slicker than a Krag - absolutely nothing -- Try it with cast boolits, 311291 is a good one --

I have yet to shoot mine I picked up for $40 OTD this year You all shooting commercial Winchester?

I think my gun a NRA sporter, I know little of Krags, it may be for sale/trade locally once I figure out for sure what it is.

hundo, that tight muzzle is the key to your accuracy - I am happy your rifle shoots straight I was on the hook for steering you to a potentially icky krag.

Fear not, toolman! I'm so happy with my Krag, now that I've put a few rounds down range...

I'm sorry to hear that others didn't have the luck that we had but if you're ever passing through Alabama, you might want to consider stopping in and picking out a Krag. I asked them about this and they will ship them to you, if you come in and pick it out...

...at least, that's what they said before.

If you can get a good one, I'd do it! It's a fantastic rifle to shoot...

Yes..

...and I tried the Remington as well.

For me, the Winchester seemed to be more accurate but that's just me...
