    1965

I just want to double check for posterity. Starting January 1st, 1965 firearms are C&R correct?

    Merry Christmas!
Everyone on Calguns keeps talking about TDS. I never knew we had so many fish keepers!

The TDS on my 10gallon tanks 110ppm
The TDS on my 29 gallon tank is 150ppm (due to substrate)

If you want to get pedantic like the ATF or CADOJ could, it would come down to the month the firearm was made, or even the day/hour. 50 years is 50 years, not 49 years, 11 months and 28 days, right? Go with the level of risk and exposure you are comfortable with. But it is pretty difficult to prove month and day without access to factory records and for most of the guns we like around here, no factory records are available. So then it would come down to you, your sellers word against the ATF or CADOJ. I don't like those odds personally.

Starting January 1, 2015 all firearms manufactured in 1964 are C&R. There are still firearms that were manufactured in the last six days of 1964 that are not yet 50 years old.

Thanks both. I don't think I will take the risk of trying a 1965 gun.

Because of the New Years Day holiday and the weekend, Monday January 4 was probably the first day that any firearms where manufactured in the U.S. in 1965.

Then here's a good test question for the OP...

If Heatseeker was born on January 4, 1965 is his 50th birthday January 1, 2015 or January 4, 2015.

This really doesn't matter anymore does it? California now goes by the federal C&R list, many of which are NOT 50 years old but still qualify.

If you only want to buy firearms listed by name in the ATF C&R booklet then I guess it wouldn't matter. But if you want to buy firearms that are only C&R because of their age then date of manufacture is very important.
