A bit of an early Christmas present

For my wife let me buy what I wanted for our anniversary (she got a Tiffany diamond necklace-so I think she got the better part of the deal ) and so I got this (It came in late Friday):

I wonder what it could be?

(It did not come with the ugly green sandals )

    Here it is:

    Any guesses?

    Out of the box:

A Traditions Springfield Hawken in .50 cal from Muzzleloaders.com!
    The other side:

    I went with a single-trigger system, I'm not a big fan of double-set triggers.

    With my ML pistol:

    (Don't make a great pair!?)

One more thing (which I thought was funny) this was on the side of the box it came in:

"This box is not a shipping carton"

Very cool. Want a range report when you take her out. One of my 2015 resolutions is to buy my first BP rifle.

Sweet, that's a beauty. Does it share the same type of percussion cap as your pistol?

Yep same caps(#11) and they're the same cal (.50 cal)

looks nice. I recently picked up a replica zouave in .58 but have yet to get the stuff to shoot it.

I have a modern inline in 50 and its fun to shoot. sometimes slowing down a bit and experiencing the old ways are quite enjoyable.
