    Romanian TT-33 or Polish TTC?

I'm sure this is splitting hairs, but another poster brought up a TT-33 and now I've gotta have one. I've shot quite a few of them but was wondering if anyone had an opinion on which of the two is better?

In your experiences, are the Romanian TT-33s or the Polish TTCs higher quality in terms of fit, finish, and accuracy?

    Thanks,
    Tim

I have a Romanian Tok. I like it a lot. I can't comment on the Polish variant, as the Rommy is the only Tokarev pistol I have experience with.

btw, aren't the correct designations: Romanian TT-C, Polish TT-33 ??

I love my Romanian TTC. Very nice finish, VG bore and a very fun shooter. Some like the Polish one for its closer resemblance to the Russian TT-33. The Romanian TTC has fine grooves on the slide, the Polish has the wide ones. The Romanians have the star in the grip, most poles I have seen do not.

Totally slipped my mind! I don't know much (anything) about them, but are the Yugos the ones that have a unique magazine? One of them does....I'm not sure which. I bought some spare mags for my Romanian, no idea where they came from but they are nicer and function better than the original mags that came with the gun.

Between the Polish and the Romanian, six of one, half dozen of the other as far as I am concerned. I have a Romanian TTC, love it, it is a solid gun, fun as heck to shoot. The Polish have that cool Radom Circle 11, they are built really well but blindfolded, I doubt if you could tell much difference. I would buy whichever you can find a better example of but you will pay significantly more for the Polish as the market is saturated with Romanians right now for some reason.

To be truthful, all of us C&R people should have all of them, a Russian, Romanian, Polish, Yugo and a Chinese but most of us can't afford it.

I had a Polish TT. It's as close to the real soviet made as it gets. Romanian and Chinese each a grade below in that order.

Just in build quality and machining or actual accuracy? I have a 1969 P64 which is a Radom Circle 11 build and it is built really nicely but I was surprised at the rough machining marks under the safety and inside the slide, I had always heard that Radom built guns were really top notch.

Hungary made them too, but have yet to find one.

I don't think you can go wrong with a Romanian. I enjoyed choosing the best of 5 myself at Turners, a luxury you will not get buying online. I am not a fan of the ugly import mark. The added safety is fine, although a bit stiff.

The slide is a polished blue finish, the lower is somewhat matte. Hard to tell when it's fully assembled, it's not too much of a difference.

What to expect from a regular Turners TTC (note- the pinky rest mag floor plates were added by me, NOT original) It came with two magazines, holster, cleaning rod and lanyard.

In build quality and accuracy yes. Romanian is good enough quality for the price as expected.

I would love to test a Romanian and a Polish side by side. That would be interesting.

Thanks for the toughts fellas. I figured it was a pretty loaded question since I'm sure there's little to no issues with either. AIM Surplus has them both right now for only a $10 difference between the two, so I was just trying to find if there was any measurable difference in build quality or accuracy.

                          Thanks!

I'm glad I got Romanian and Polish ammo when it was cheap.

I'd go with Polish pistol and Romanian cartridges.

That's kind of the Achilles heel of these pistols is the typical bullets run around .308 but the bores run upwards of .312. They vary widely, same with the chambers.

For a $10.00 difference, I would get the Polish. For a $50.00 difference, I would get the Romanian.
