    Rusted chinese 7.62

I bought a couple of crates of chinese 7.62x39 sight unseen and upon opening, I was greeted with this.

Best guess is it was stored outside, and 20 years of sun and rain did the damage.

          No refund.
          I spent 150/case.
This one is all rusted. The bottom one is 90% ok.

          No clue if it's salvageable.
          I'm thinking not.

maybe you can save the powder, scrap the metal.

My first thought is. Get the better ones out and clean with wire brush and tumble them.

The rest, I need to figure something out.
Pulling military crimped bullets for the powder with a bullet puller one at a time isn't my idea of fun.

Ouch, that's rough. I'm sorry to see them in such poor shape. I'm surprised that they were not wrapped better, such as the Russian/Bulgarian/Hungarian/everyone else's ammo that is packed inside of packaging, stuffed in spam cans, then put in boxes.

If those rusted AK rounds are good enough for 12 year old Afghani children then they're good enough for you too!

If it is steel cased, I wouldn't take a chance on shooting it. If it was brass, I would shoot it. I had a case of Yugo 39 that looked far worse, and all of them shot fine.

This is for an AK? I would shoot it.

bought it at an estate sale. All sales final. Friend spotted them. He's not a shooter. Sent me a picture with a price, and I was feeling unusually sporty, so I went for it

                              Yes. AK ammo.
                              I'm weary of shooting it...

You win some, you lose some.
If both cases had been in good shape, it would have been a hellova deal for 2880 rounds of ammo.

                              oh well.
