They had a discount rack, where I spied a semi-auto rimfire I hadn't seen before.
Winchester 74, a quick serial lookup put this at 1946.



I took it out shooting right after. Prints really nice patterns at 50 yards, windage is spot on, but it shoots a bit high.
a little research says I got a darn good deal...
Then on the wall rack, I saw an M1 carbine...




It went immediately into the impulse buy cart. I think I might have overpaid a bit unfortunately.
I tore it down and compared it to charts, seems like it's more or less a USGI gun. I think the front sight and stock, as well as the recoil plate are repro.
Unfortunately, I couldn't take possession of the magazine.

Besides, you'll be enjoying your new acquisitions and it's something you wanted, so don't worry it. If it makes you happy, then who cares.
