Need input: Best repro ZF-4 scope and mount options??

    Searching around, I found these:

The second one looks like the one I've got, which is crap. Needs a piece of shim material between the scope and mount.
Anybody have any input on the Czech Meopta one?
Or should I be looking elsewhere?
Buy once, cry once, then be happy is generally my policy.

ETA: Sarco also has one: http://www.e-sarcoinc.com/scopesandmounts.aspx

What are you building, I still need a Swept Back for my collection of Replica German WWII K98 Snipers.

If you are going to use a repro G43 mount, watch for bolt carrier clearance space - some of the repro's are a tad low and this will result in a broken scope band.

I thought about adding a scope to one of my G43's but I have not been tempted to shoot them - All Matching

For PTR44, which IIRC should be the same mount as a G43?
Any input on the actual scope?
              Anybody have a Meopta?

In terms of quality, the newer Meopta is probably better. The real ones are sometimes cloudy, require cleaning - etc. Adds several hundred to their cost to make them usable.

Was there a " scope " difference between the G43, FG42 and the K98 Sweptback ? Other than Mount.

If Meopta appears to be the better quality ZF4, is there a Sweptback Mount which appears to be the best quality?

I normally buy from Accumounts but his is a combo which includes the Scope - I would have to confirm make.

Ah, if I understand the question correctly, the markings on the ZF4 was the distinction - for the FG42, the "L" marked scope was thought to be used for those - the K98 Sweptback - the rare "K.Z.F."

I thought the real "sweptback" sniper was produced in limited numbers - thought number 30 was the highest number found - I would assume mounts found are repro's and do not know anything about them - like how to tell a repro from a real mount.

So I am confused. I am reading thru this thread, so if you buy a stand alone scope on gunparts its a chinese copy? And if you buy the one with the box, its meopta? I am reading two different things, which one is it? How can I find if the stand alone scopes (w/o the box) on gunparts is chinese or meopta (czech)?

gunpartscorp told me their standalone zf4 scope is made in taiwan. Unless it spells it out, for sure its junk.

                            This one: https://www.gunpartscorp.com/ad/1290130.htm

Says very clearly "manufactured in the Czech Republic by Meopta."

Thread is a few years old (running a bit slow here), but was going to pull the trigger on the Meopta unless something new has come up in the last few years.

Going to have to wait 6 months for an FG42 scope mount though....
