It's back, guys!
The last shoot was loads of fun, got to meet a few new faces and see some old ones again, and had a heck of a time shooting some paper and just chatting.
So, to the NEXT SHOOT!
Where: The Oroville public shooting range. It is free and unmanaged (location here: https://maps.google.com/maps?oe=utf-...d=0CJIBEPwSMAM )
When: Saturday, January 3rd from 6:00-7:00AM to whenever we all leave. (Try to get there as early as possible, the range fills up pretty fast)
What: Primarily C&R's, but bring whatever you want! Modern, medieval, we love it all! (Still haven't seen a matchlock though, somebody has to bring one eventually, as this little reminder has been here for over a year and a half
)
Who: Anybody who wants to come! Bring your friends, family and yourself!
Since this is a free, and un-managed shooting range, we have to bring some things that we might take for granted most places.
1. SHADE, anything that can provide shade your skin will greatly appreciate. It will be January, but if it's not overcast, the guns get quite toasty sitting on tables in the sun.
2. TABLES, for shooting from and to put the guns on. They have some concrete tables, but they get filled up pretty quick on a good day (of which this will be for sure).
3. COOLERS/ICE CHESTS, to keep your food and drinks cold through the "heat" if you're bringing food
4. WATER, the Oroville range doesn't have any. Don't forget to buy a couple of flats of water or fill a water cooler and bring cups! Hydration people, it's necessary if you want to go there and have fun too.
5. CHAIRS, try to bring them if possible. It makes shooting and just sitting there talking infinitely more comfortable.
6. TARGETS, they do not provide targets there besides what people left behind (which is arguably a lot), so I suggest that you bring your own paper targets and cardboard/wooden stands, or other "reactive" targets, AKA, watermelons, old milk jugs filled with water, you get it.
7. FOOD, it's the new year: POTLUCK! We've done it before, we can do it again. Hotdogs and hamburgers are wonderful and easy to cook (plus hot food on a cold day is nice), all we need is someone to bring a small charcoal grill or something else to cook on
8. THE SUN, it's January, but the sun don't got time for dat month thing those humans have! You can get burns anytime of the year, bring at least a hat
I can't wait to see you all there!
If you wanna come just comment below or PM me and I'll add you to the list! And if you want add what you'll be bringing below, that'd be great since we love to talk about it before we see it
