Winchester 52C

A quick question out there.

Is the Winchester 52C C&R eligible?

I am thinking it probably is ... however; some dealers may not ship this thing to California anyhow ... unless through an 01 FFL.

The Winchester 52 was produced from 1920 to 1980. So any that were produced in 1964 or older are C&R, but newer than that, not C&R.

Any firearm that is 50+ years old qualifies as a C&R.
If my quick research on this is correct, then the C was only manufactured from 1951 to 1961. If this is correct, then it would be more than 50 years old and C&R eligible by age. You would need to research this more to confirm this as I just did a very brief Internet search. You could also check individual firearms by serial number to confirm manufacture dates if the records are available.

This is specifically why I called out the Model 52C. The 52C was manufactured from 1951 to 1961. That makes any Model 52C more than 50 years old in manufacture...

I think the difficulty in doing a C&R transfer is not the legality of it... It could very easily be due to the seller not knowing the law and taking caution ... only do a standard FFL01 transfer.

Well... I suppose the best way to find out is to go and see if I can purchase one using my C&R!
