    Hungarian sks? Is it bigfoot?

So after reading the thread on which countries use sks I thought about the Hungarian sks.
I have heard whispers of it for years. I know the Hungary produced about ever soviet gun under the sun. But there is argument weather they produced the sks.

    So does it exist?

Is it but the whisper of a unicorn.
Or is it Russian just all dressed up.

There is no such thing that I know of, and I am not completely clueless when it comes to Simonovs.

It's a possibility I suppose, but more likely a gussied-up Romanian or Yugo perhaps.

No such thing; The next thing you are going to tell me is some older hollywood actor will be governor of this state!

If that was to be the case, I would nominate Clint Eastwood.

Anything is possible - Currently the status quo is that they don't -

The thing with com-block stuff is that they either are overly secretive or simply shabby at record keeping -

There are several views as to the NVA's SKSs are of Chinese produce or not - On the SKS board I've posted detail pictures for comparision purposes -

I've a Hungarian made version of the Tokarev - Quite different from the traditional - My specimen was made for Egypt -

The Hungarian Tokarev are quite collectible - Not many around -

John Yooper is also in the dark about it just like us -

This reminds me of the Samoan broom handle Luger 30/30 lever action rifle that I almost got on Armslist...

Of course they exist. I bought one from a kindly gent with a broken Hungarian accent. His friend from Nigeria confirmed it was legit.

That`s what I also thought but you never know. What has me wandering is if they marked the rifles they have in picture. Even when military aid was given from one country to another there are usually marking on it.

True on all. You never know with the soviets what they made or loaned or gave.
The thinking was many years ago Albania never produced one and that if I read right the north Korean sks never existed. But we now know both those to be false.
My thought was if the Hungarian produced every gun like the Russian they would have had to do a run of sks even if it was small.

Or we should be seeing parts to sks coming from hungry with Hungarian marking on it.

Hungary is one of my family ancestral line so I`m always looking for the arms produced in that country.]

They will be imported by the ship load at the same time the $49 North Korean SKS's show up.

You will be able to tell them apart from the North Korean SKSs because the DPRK rifles will have human-sized chew marks on them.

                              very interesting headgear/uniforms.

their hats look not too terribly different from the hats worn when they were part of the imperial austrian hungarian empire... yet the rest of it is clearly soviet influenced. interesting little bit of the past they clung to there, me likey
