Interesting educational value to the .gif's there, thanks for posting. It explains why the front of the sight bridge often looks nicked up on a Garand. It also explains the famous "twirl" of the brass as it leaves the weapon, as opposed to just being flung.

My ONLY gripe with the Garand's cycling is that the empty enblocs seem to go straight up and down, bouncing off the weapon before dropping to the ground.
