Nice, it looks in good shape for sporter.
I look enough that I also wouldn't buy a stock or any other gear, other than some mixed types of ammo, until I took her out for a spin around the block (or to the range.)

I would just take it to the range and enjoy it. I do not think anything more needs to be done. This is just an opinion though.

A2 - I know what you're planning to end up with. That rifle looks like a good candidate to restock. Other than a cut-down stock, the rest looks unmessed with and restorable.

Paul and Viki are great folks. I've known them for YEARS. I miss their shop in Glendale (they're now in Globe, AZ.)
I used to go their Glendale shop almost everyday on my lunch break when I used to work in Burbank.
