Worthwhile to buy chargers and stripper clips?

I was on the hunt for some K31 chargers until I saw the price for it; that's when my heart sank. Even for the price, i always thought it would be cool to have and use to compliment my rifle, but the price sucks!

I also was looking for some mosin stripper clips, which i saw that they were signficantly cheaper AND heck of a lot simpler.

I always thought it would be "cool" to use and having, but is it worth it? Is it that much better than loading one at a time?

Slight differences, Switzerland is way smaller as Russia, around one million Swiss straight pulls were made against a zillion Ussr and other ones, guess where that scarcity and high prices come from these days ?
The Swiss did not make these no more somewhere around the sixties and most were just thrown away because of the newer automatic rifles.

I am not a fan of strippers. I have used them in both the k31 and mosins. I am just a range junkie so loading one at a time is no issue. it takes a little practice to get smooth with them. If you buy them get real Russian made as some of the copies are not worth the metal they are stamped from. The swiss are cool and work well but were meant to be tossed as they are waxed paper with feed lips. I picked up a few when I had the chance . They sure are getting harder to find and more expensive especially in good condition. Honestly mine all sit in drawers most the time and never see daylight. Not worth it to me . IMHO

I've only ever used stripper clips for one rifle that worked well, and that was for my German Kar98k rifles. For whatever reason, those stripper clips worked like magic. I have never used stripper clips for any other rifle (K31, other Mausers, Enfields, Mosins, etc) that worked even a fraction as well.

I only use the Swiss stripper clips that we call Laders or in English Loaders, can't do without them.

I clicked on this thread for an entirely different reason... I read the title wrong.

I have a bunch of Lake City 5.56 that I bought in stripper clips. There's a little metal thing that clips on the top of AR mags that makes loading ten rounds at a time a breeze. My range time is valuable and I'd rather spend it shooting than loading mags one round at a time. They work great on CA compliant ten round PMAGS. I've been saving them as I use them and will reload the strippers with loose ammo in my spare time at home. Good stuff!

I tried stripper clips for several different types of my bolt guns and didn't like any of them. Not worth the time or effort - IMHO

Stripper clips are handy with a lot of rifles.

When I shoot a Mosin I never single load and always use strippers. I bought a few cases of '40s ammo on clips years ago. The ammo is long gone but I still reload the clips; mine are Izhevsk.

Ugh, I think I'll buy 2 or 3 k31 loaders and a handful of mosin strippers from apex.

I'll give them a shot and see how it goes... Thanks guys. Quick responses.

The Swiss clips, like Swiss anything, work.

At least mine do. I bought a half dozen from a member here. I think he is from Switzerland or goes there for part of the year.

                        Glennsomething. They weren't that expensive.

Who doesn't use strippers to charge their SKS? Load em in my spare time at home, goes really fast if you get a good system for retaining the spring.

I have stripper clips for pretty much all of my milsurps.

Some work better than others; fake mosin clips aren't worth wasting your time with. The originals, while not as smooth as mauser clips, are much better.

In general, they're handy if you want to speed things up at the range.

That being said I never use the Mosin ones. They're a little finicky even if you practice it.
