Glad you made it out alive... You're brave to do an firearm transaction on CL. I think buying an edged weapon off there would be even scarier.

That would be true if you didn't have an FFL & COE then didn't register it.

Nice find!! Nice looking m/41. It does not appear to be a later m/41B as the entire bolt assembly is "in the white". All m/41B's had their entire bolt assembly's finished in "Dulite" black oxide. Additionally it has the standard m/96 rear sight. All m/41B's were equipped with the m/55 type micrometer rear sight.

To make your rifle truly correct a m/42 AGA 3x65 or m/44 AGA 3x65 scope would be needed.

A pretty tall order as the m/42's very rarely come up for sale. The m/44's are just unobtanium...

Some pic's of the m/42 AGA.

I thought the Swedish sights went on later when Hitler choked off the supply of the ajacks for the war effort? Did I somehow get that backward?

              Nice original WW2 m/41.

Adding to what SVT-40 said, the big Ajack (pronounced Eye-ack) was the original scope for these and when the Germans ceased delivery of these the Swedes went to the m/42 and m/44 AGA scopes.

In the early-mid 1950's when the Swedes upgraded to the m/41B, they kept the Ajack scopes and their mount setups, upgraded them to m/41B configuration, and sold off the original m/41 rifles with the AGA scopes.

Each scope uses it's own unique ring size, so the rings are different sizes. I don't have my pile of original m/41 rifles here with me so I can't really comment more on this, but you might be able to shim some of the rings for a smaller scope.

Scopes and mount setups are very difficult to find and rather costly unless you get as lucky as you did on the rifle. Original, unmodified, m/41 Ajack scopes and mounts are the hardest to find, as most of these were retained and upgraded by the Swedes.

Your rifle is one of the earlier ones that have the shorter base with the curved left side. The later m/41 base is a little longer, has a straight left side, and a different hole pattern so it will not work on your rifle.

I have a pristine, all original and all matching (all matching Swede m/41 mount setups are very scarce) late m/41 mount setup (I don't remember if it is for the m/42 or m/44 scope) with spare parts like extra base and locking lever that I got from Dutchman on the Swede Rifle Forum at Gunboards, but haven't come across a late rifle that needs that pattern base yet. I'm still looking for a couple scope and early mount setups like yours uses, but it's been a while since I've seen one for sale.

Since the mounts and bases on the earliest rifles are German made, one of the replica German mount setups for the Ajack scope from Accumounts might work. I think they also have a replica m/41B mount setup that would work if you rework the base.

If anyone is looking for an original m/41, I have several for sale.

I think I have 3 or 4 that are complete with m/42 and m/44 scope setups that I would sell for $2,800 each. I have a beautiful 1899 Carl Gustav with no scope or mount setup for $1,000 and another one (I don't recall the year off-hand) that has the base but no scope or mount that I would sell for $1,300.
