Picked up this 1918 Lithy a few weeks ago for a decent price,$311.00. Early Lithgows that haven't been parkerized and outfitted in coachwood furniture are always appealing to me. Forend, barrel, sight, and nosecap match, bolt does not. Atleast it has early style cocking piece and Headspace is very good. Milled for magazine cutoff but from reading I have done mid to late '18 would have been milled and not installed. I love all of the small Lithgow stars and shields on these. There is still some khaki paint on barrel that matches the crusty old khaki sling it came with. After spending some time in Austrailias 2nd military district it went over to South Africa. Ears have been cut on front handguard, most likely do to weakening at wafer reenforcement. Bore is very slightly frosted but has very nice rifling and little wear at muzzle. Draws are tired so they will need attention before I ever shoot it. Not sure if they are ever going to reopen blm down here... No hurry to repair
