If you need some close ups, I can dig mine out of the safe...

Although I am not a purist would love for it to be as it should.
I know what the problem is, I just need to have it in hand to fix it.
The safety works much like a Mauser safety does. When the gun is cocked, and the safety applied, the safety moves the cocking piece off the sear. So with the gun cocked, the safety on, and the trigger is pulled, the cocking piece hasn't moved rearward enough to allow the sear to reset back into position, to engage the cocking piece. At that point, the only thing holding the cocking piece and firing pin, is the safety. Snap it off, and it fires.
Already told blackrat if he wasn't in a hurry, I'd help him out with it.

aye, I responded to your pm too if you missed it. I have no problem waiting. since you're on though is there anything you think I should order in the meantime until you're free that way it can all be taken care of in one swoop, or is the problem you are talking about the result of a modified receiver and everything else I have is usable?

I don't know enough about the rifle to say what is wrong. Don't think I am saying the receiver is bad. could be but I don't know. This is what I do:

I call TRAP and drive it to his house and let him work on it. He tells me what he needs to fix it and where to buy it at the best price.. Then I call him twice a week and complain about how he's not done yet. After I get tired of calling ( a few months usually) he calls and says we need to test it at yolo. Then I buy him beer and dinner at Mary's pizza shack.

He is often busy and sometimes slow but has fixed everything I brought him and some for friends. Listen to his advise as if he didn't know he wouldn't say he did. If he is willing to help accept it and return the favor when the opportunity arises. Yea I am the smarta!! and for it he calls me the dic! But I laugh as it is pretty true.
