Another Mosin Problem please help stock cracking!

So I just finished fixing the magazine problem on my Hex Mosin (well actually I just bought the replacement part and paid a gunsmith $40 to install it) and when I put the magazine back into my rifle I noticed this crack in my laminate stock. Is there anything thing I can do to fix the crack myself or am I just better off (gasp!) buying an aftermarket stock like the ATI one or a Boyd's one? Btw thanks curio and relic cal gunners for helping with the last issue so quickly and telling me which part to buy!

That can be fixed with a little Acraglass, a dremel, and a threaded rod (a brass or stainless steel wood screw with both ends cut off). Post some pics showing the inside of the stock.

      "stalingrad screw"

Tman called me and told me that Centerfire Systems had an advertisement where we could buy 5 M44 rifles for $39.95 each. He said the ad said they were "battlefield pick-ups", had never been arsenal restored, and were sold in "as is" condition. I said, "Well, sounds like a great project to me!"...

And btw that doesn't look like a laminate stock...

Oh ok good to know I assumed it was a laminate stock. Also how hard is something like that to do?

Not very hard at all, it's pretty straight forward.

where do you live? if in bay area we can fix it.

Otherwise it looks like action is moving in stock, maybe soft oil soaked front lug, need new glassed in rear ferrel.

It's not hard to fix, but I think it would be easier to just find a replacement. With all the Tacticool clowns buying Archangel stocks for their Mosins, there are dozens of wood stocks for sale if you look around or post a WTB ad.

I collect Military Arms and enjoy shooting in local matches. I also collect older Lever Actions, especially those chambered in odd/old cartridges. If you have a nice old Winchester or Marlin in 25-20, 32-40, 38-55, 40-60, 45-70, etc etc, please PM me and we can work out a deal.

This^^^, without fixing the cause of the crack, fixing the crack itself, is a waste of time.

Ok I just spoke with someone at century who imported the rifle that I purchased at my local Big 5 she checked the warehouse and said they do not have any replacement stocks on hand right now but she will call me back within 24 hours to let me know if they find one.
