    m1895 nagant

I am buying an m1895 nagant revolver. This among other weapons that an acquaintance has inherited. Haven't seen it yet, but he says that it is in very good condition. I have been looking around for one for a while, but most places are sold out. I have been seeing them at GB but they always go for a pretty penny/ We have tentatively agreed on $ 200,00.
Any thoughts or constructive comments would be greatly appreciated

I like the one i bought. they have pretty much dried up cheap. i would pay that if the bore and metal are nice. They are a odd ball design but i shoot and enjoy the one i have.

Trigger pull is very heavy on those, but it is cool on how the cylinder moves forward when you shoot. Sometimes the brass is kinda hard to get out after you shoot them. A very icon historic revolver.

$200 is the going rate for a refurb (outside CA) and a steal for one that isn't. Any word on the year?

That's close to what I paid for my RGUNS Nagant. If it doesn't have the ugly import mark I would go for it. If it does, I would talk them down a little on the price.

I tried some surplus ammo and all but one casing was stuck. I used PPU and they all came out

            They're cool little revolvers

The surplus ammo is a lot hotter from my experience and requires the ejection rod almost every shot. The ppu is light and can be removed with your fingers. Surplus tended to be far more accurate.

The rod wouldn't even eject; the cases were so swedged in there. Had to use a wooden dowel and hammer to get them out

Hmmm.. Haven't had that. Try cleaning the heck out of the cylinders? Maybe some left over cosmoline?

The bore is enlarged so the end of the shell expands and then it does not want to exit the cylinder which is slightly smaller. being that the PPU is a light load it does not expand as much. that is my theory and i am sticking to it. HA

If you can come to the WEGC C&R shoot tomorrow you can try one out. I know at least 3 people that will be there tomorrow that have one of these, myself included.

Sad that just a couple of years ago, these were being given away for $89.00. I have one, I agree, they are cool as heck. I paid $140.00 for mine, an Izhevsk in very good re-arsenaled condition with all of the accessories. Get one before they are all gone.

They came from the factory with a hammer and a wooden dowel. All officers were issued a hammer with a proof stamp and a wooden dowel with a picture of the Czar on it. There is only one in set in the world left in existence, and I happen to have it. I am offering the hammer and dowel on Gunboards, but I will let you guys have it for a mere $15,465 USD. I think this is a fair price. I will throw in my semi- genuine Nagant proof stamps I just bought on Ebay for only $200 more.

Please don't contact me for a week or so, as I am out roping wild mustang unicorns and trying to catch 6-point jackalopes for my collection.

The neck was flared out stuck, not grime stuck. Revolver is super clean

Like I said, PPU solved the problem and I don't get stuck casings anymore

I own two of them, both are re-blued. Holster included. Not sure if they have important markings? I would sell one.
