***UPDATE - PROBLEM SOLVED - PICS ADDED - Help w/ 1903a3 ejection problem

It shoots fine but when you pull the bolt back it does not eject the casing. The casing remains "attached" to the bolt. I can simply knock it off with my hand and continue firing but I would like it to work correctly.

Any thoughts?

Im certain something is either broken or missing. But what would I need and where would I buy it? Im pretty confident I could install it myself.

UPDATE -

Yup the ejector was missing. Cycles and ejects perfectly. Cant wait to take it out now.

Ejector spring on left side of receiver. When you pull the bolt back the ejector smacks the shell casing. when the spring is broken it just moves out of the way. My mauser and 1903a3 both had broken ejector springs when i got them easy 5 dollar fix.

There is no "ejector spring" on the 1903 series of rifles. The ejector is operated mechanically by rearward bolt thrust. If yours doesn't eject, the ejector is broken, missing, or the cutoff spindle is damaged.

Just a thought.. Are you pulling the bolt to the rear with authority, and letting the case really smack the ejector?

If not, you may be experiencing the issue due to a lack of force being applied during the cycling of the bolt...

Had the same issue with mine, spindle and ejector replaced, and it's good to go... just be sure to get correct Remington or Smith Corona parts

Turns out it is completely missing the ejector. If anyone has one let me know. If what I believe is correct is the ejector held in by a pin? The pin is then held in place by the stock? The pin is there just no ejector.

My 1903 ejector sits on the bolt. No pin. Just replaced mine. They are about $24

i just bought one of ebay for 4 bux w/ free shipping. there are a ton for sale there. search for 03a3 ejector. the 03a3 i just bought also didn't have the ejector, just the pin.
