There's a fellow who shoots at my local gun club with a similiar one. His isn't as bright, but the action resides in a laminated stock. He also installed a muzzle brake to help lessen the felt recoil. He's quite old so he probably appreciates less of a thump.

Laugh but that stock would easily sell for $250+ on sleezebay. Quality laminate stocks are tough to find for an M1.

This is the same one I have for my marlin 795, I really like it, but wouldn't want to put my m1 in one.

The only reason I think I would put one of the colorful laminated stocks on one of my M1s is if I was building a special match rifle or maybe a camo laminate on a Mini G for hunting maybe.
