M1C Mount Base

Has anyone tried the repro mount base from Numrich? Does anyone know who actually mfg them and their quality?

I want to convert a plain jane Garand into something I can use in VSM with a Lyman Alaskan, and shoot longer ranges with a modern 1" scope. I'll be using the Griffin and Howe scope mount. I notice the mount base G&H offers today is taller than the M1C plate. Maybe that is to allow for a larger front objective?

Putting one of those mounts onto a Garand will be no easy task, the Rockwell on the receiver is around 63 and .017 deep. U will have to anneal then drill and tap the receiver and u also have to get the mount parallel with the bore. I hope u are a good machinist. Not trying to dissuade you, if u can do it that's awesome. JT
