I collected nothing but bolt guns for a long time, aside from my SKS of course, which was my first C&R purchase, on accident really. After shooting a hakim I owned briefly, then my brother's FAL, and our VZ-58, I have to admit I kinda got bit by the semi-auto bug. They're way more expensive to buy and feed, but, as mentioned, an ammo dump now and then is good for the soul. We recently acquired a Ljungman, which is definitely an expensive pet, but what a feeling throwing several rounds of 6.5x55 downrange in a hurry! Once I get a load dialed in for it things will be easier and cheaper, so no worries, and you can't beat the cool factor. Future plans include another Hakim, an SVT-40, a Cetme/G3, and whatever else we stumble across really. That said, there's still a pile of bolt guns I must have and I continue to work on the ones I have, a few still needing parts or assembly/resto, so no C&R left behind. I don't want to sound like a jerk, but lever guns have never really blown my kilt up, not sure why, except the old lever-action shotguns for some reason, I think they're awesome. Maybe just watched terminator 2 a bit too much.
