    I.D. Help on .22 pistol

Does anyone have an idea what this pistol frame was and who manufactured it?

    Calibre: .22

Octagonal barrel, about seven inches long

A simple trap door like cover for the breech.

Stamping: a crown with the letter E above the crown and the letters HR.

Notice the "door" lifts up to expose the chamber.

Has a single dovetail for a sight.

Any suggestions on where to look would be appreciated. Very rough metal condition, including the bore. Needs a mainspring but the hammer and trigger function. Needs a stock too.

I haven't seen anything like it. Are you sure it isn't a cut-down rifle?

EDIT> It almost looks like a Flobert "Parlor Gun". Note the shape of the trigger and tang, and the position of the sight.

    Product Information; ANTIQUE SHIP DIRECT •MAKE:BELGIUM •MODEL:FLOBERT * Action:SINGLE SHOT BREECH LOAD •Finish:RUSTED •Caliber/Gauge:22 OR 6MM •Bore:POOR •Bar

And another with the same type of breech.

Late 1800 Belgian Flobert .22 Caliber gallery rifle with a 24” octagon barrel. It is all complete and functional with a good bore. It has a fancy trigger guar

Dutch 3, yes, I believe you are correct that it is a cut-down rifle. It would make no sense for a pistol to have a sight location as seen here.

I will check up on the models you mentioned.

      thanks

It was a Flobert Rifle, probably 6mm Flobert, that somebody took a hacksaw to.
