You have good taste. Thanks for sharing. I could see throwing that SKS in a fiberglass stock but I'll bet you it shoots perfectly even with that beat to sh*t one.GREATER SACRAMENTO AREA REALTOR

Thanks for the replies. I have not shot the Mosin yet, but the other 2 shoot just fine. And yes the SKS still shoots well even with the busted up stock. When I get the new stock I'm going to try to refinish it in a dark blood red color. I saw an AK at the range that had that cool deep red color, beautiful. I'll put some pictures up when I do it. Not sure how it's going to turn out but I'll give it a shot.Comment

Funny because I have always been a modern gun guy. Like the tactical stuff with rails, but lately these types of guns have tickled my fancy, not sure why. These are the first in my collection that have wood. When I shoot these it feels like they have an old soul, especially the M1. I love it and I have a new appreciation for history.Comment

Sweet!Sorry, not sorry.

Dear autocorrect, I'm really getting tired of your shirt!Comment

Here is the deal with modern "tactical" guns. I have some of those, and I devote meaningful training time to shooting, manipulating, and moving with them in preparation for (hopefully never) HD/SD use.Funny because I have always been a modern gun guy. the real interest in firearms for me comes in the C&R realm. Garands, Mosins, Mausers, 1903's, M1 carbines, and of course the SKS... the list goes on and on. These types of weapons have the market cornered on fun for me. Modern guns are cool, but they are tools. The stuff mentioned in this thread is living history.
Oh, and nice guns by the way.Comment

For me, modern, tacticool rifles have never interested me. I've shot them, and yes, they're fun, but everyone has one. I like C&R stuff because I've always had an interest in WW1/ WW2March 29- April 5, 2019- The Million Mag March. Thank you, Judge Benitez and all the vendors

Yeah i think its a nostalga thing. I did the same thing with cars. In the beginning wanted the newest and fastest. Now that im alittle more seasoned (32 years old, haha) i like the older stuff. They just have a character all their own and are not a dime a dozen. So heres a question, any suggestions on what to buy next, gun wise not cars? I dont like having too many different calibers but im open to suggestions.Comment

How crazy do you want your collection to be?
You already have the quintessential Russian rifles. I'd say get an M1 Carbine to go with your Garand
A Swiss straight pull and a Mauser are always good ones too
As for calibers, unless you're up for collecting variants of one particular rifle (like the Mosin variants), you're going to have diff calibers. Just how it is
I have always loved the Garand since seeing Saving Private Ryan when it came out back in '98. Finally got one at the end of last yr and love itMarch 29- April 5, 2019- The Million Mag March. Thank you, Judge Benitez and all the vendors
