How many of you are buying odd ball calibers before SB53 gets signed?

Yeah, this is my understanding as well...

He does it and lets us fight it. The antis win. It cost a great deal of money to fight it and that is good for the antis. Of course, he did veto one which surprised me.

Anyway, stop whining and start writing your reps. Honestly, if you have never done it, do it now. It actually helps. And yes, I sent a personal plea to my rep.

        There's two scenarios

        1. You can get it as cheap surplus.
        2. You can't.

For every caliber you shoot if #1 is true and you don't need match accuracy, buy a ton of it while you still can.

Otherwise re: #2 the more oddball the caliber usually the more you save per round to reload it. The big problem in the short term is that the component makers aren't exactly prioritizing oddball calibers. I just went to go order a Hornady bullet to find it's on their "temporarily suspended" list and you can't find it for love or money.

Copy of the bill for those interested, I love this little excerpt (no, I did not edit this), the "Principle co-author" is in an orange jump suit.

Won't reloading primers and powder be affected too by SB53?

It doesn't ban online sales. It just states that the ammo has to be shipped to a CA "ammunition vendor" to process the transfer.

              (a) The delivery or transfer of ownership of ammunition may only occur in a face-to-face transaction with the deliverer or transferor being provided bona fide evidence of identity from the purchaser or other transferee, provided, however, that ammunition may be purchased over the Internet or through other means of remote ordering if an ammunition vendor in this state initially receives the ammunition and processes the transfer in compliance with this section and Article 3 (commencing with Section 30345). An ammunition vendor is required to promptly and properly process those transactions. An ammunition vendor is not required to house ammunition orders longer than 30 days.

Ridiculous, which means they probably will pass it. Just retarded enough to fit in with California law. Here's an idea, how about more thorough background checks on the clowns writing these BS bills?
