How many of you are buying odd ball calibers before SB53 gets signed?

I have one Swede and another Howa 1500 in 6.5x55 on layaway, and I don't see much ammo for these rifles locally and when I do there is a significant premium. I have a little over 700 rounds accumulated but I feel the urge to get more via mail order/online before the door gets shut. I feel bad for the C&R guys if this bill gets signed. I can get Swede ammo for around .75 a round to my door, but if forced to buy locally it will double or triple in price.

I have stopped buying the popular stuff to buy a few more 6.5x55 before I have to pay crazy prices. Maybe reloading is a priority since I have enough brass.

You definitely need to reload for your C&R rifles. You will also have the advantage of being able to create superior ammo to the surplus that is available.

With all of the anti gun sentiment that abounds in the elected dirt bag politicians, the courts seem to be our only hope in saving our 2A rights.

Yup - buying every single round of 8mm Kurz I can -
making some silly purchases, but, that happens -
(No more than $2 per round even for collector ammo - $4 per if it's a sealed vintage box, )

When there is really no more, then reloading time.

At the moment there is a small supply of Hornady, Privi and FNM but really seems to have been back ordered in favor of more popular loads.

We are somewhat optimistic that Jerry Brown won't sign this blatantly unconstitutional bill into law but if he does, I have one word for you to consider: RELOAD!

Every C&R owner should reload, especially those of us with more obscure caliber guns.

For some reason Ammo Bros in Cerritos did or does have some Prvi 7.92Kurz ammo on the shelf if you want to go pick it up.

I have been buying dies for some of the less common things I shoot. I doubt I could find .32 S&W locally anyway.

I need to buy more dies. I'm only set up for 30-06. I should get dies for Jap, Nagant, Swiss, and French

Eventually you will get to the point where you can reload for every caliber you own. That what happened to me LOL

Instead of reloading just send your fired brass to me for disposal

You would think that such a grotesque, nonsensical bill would never pass, but sadly the consensus is that it is going to be signed. I'm sure plenty of multi thousand round purchases will be made if it is passed.

Which consensus is this Hundids? Link? Most of the Calguns legal beagles I have read seem to think that Brown won't sign this as it will run afoul of the interstate commerce laws and will be struck down?

Exactly, California would be regulating commerce. The only way they can ban ammo sales online is if they ban ammo itself. It has no way of passing.

I could be wrong, but the people I've talked to as well as most in the CA 2A forum believe it will be signed. There's a thread on it.

If it happens, it wouldn't be the first time Brown signed an unconstitutional bill into law. It won't hold me up but I weep for all of the unprepared, naive and new shooters who won't know what hit them. They'll think $1.00 per round is normal. ;-(
