Figured for $250 plus dros, it would be worth taking a shot on this pistol.

I'd of maybe bought even though I devalue greatly if names, initials, ssn or dl numbers are engraved or scratched on guns. Get any backstory on the name? I've never seen someone put on gun where they captured it.

No backstory at all sadly other than it was Mr Roberts who had sold it to the shop.

Even devalued $250 for a ppk is a steal.

Great find - crazy price - does the serial have a K in it?

As long as everything is good working order, I think you did very well.

That's a nice pre-war Walther...the .32ACP chambering, the 90 degree safety...I'd buy it even if Bill Clinton's name was engraved on the slide.

                    Ruhr Pocket:

WW2 Germans preferred the .32 and 9mm calibers in handguns, bypassing the .380 to simplify logistics and avoid caliber confusion.

I wonder if you can find out who Tom Roberts was, perhaps a soldier?
                    Very common name, though.

that being on the slide next to his name makes it very interesting to me, Maybe it was a battle field pick up that he used to save his life? Who knows.

Then you could probably sell it to some liberal anti-gun type for a handsome profit!
