Finnish 91 Mosin

Here are some pics of a Russian 1891 M91 Finnish capture (D Marked) barrel shank and the SS which is a Civil Guard mark and number.

It is a 1914 date of manufacture and the 283rd made. Very nice condition and bore is mirror.

NICE imperial crest, as well.

The bore is mirror...like new and it has the round splice.

FWIW my friend's M39 slugged at 0.302x0.312.

Not sure what you mean? Is that what the barrel varied? It should be .310 and whatever wear you have.

I could be wrong, but I thought I read somewhere that the Finns made their barrels just a bit tighter than the Russian standard .310?

Here are a few,
Finn 91 .3095" Russian .311"
Finn 28/30 .3082"
Finn M39 .310"
Finn 91/30 .3095" Russian .311"

With the 28/30 the tightest of them all, but what shooters those are with the M39 not bad either.

0.302 bore .0312 groove

the finn M28s had 0.300x0.308 barrels.

I had also heard finn bore were tighter, but my friend's is 0.312 goove, no doubt about it, and it's a nice bore, not worn out.

Sestroysek's are Russian made. The Finns captured and reissued Kenc9's rifle after restocking it.
