    Nagant AR Stock *aluminum prototype*

Just an update on my previous post on an Mosin Nagant AR stock I've been working on. I've updated the design a bit and just got done machining it in aluminum.

Let me know what you think!

Nice job on the machining. Are you planning on anodizing or painting it? What is the weight of the rifle now - did it significantly decrease? It will be interesting to see how well it shoots now that you free floated the barrel.

Looks like it costs more than 3 1943 91/30s combined. How much does it weigh?

Enfield, anodizing is really the best way. Paint will stick, but doesn't like to stay on too great.

Thanks guys! Yes, I plan on having it hard-coat anodized in gunmetal-black. The aluminum body stock itself (without rifle and accessories attached) weighs in at 1.6lbs -- I could probably shave that down even more but probably not necessary.

I plan on taking it to the range next weekend and will post a video.

If the demand is there, I plan on producing them for sale on our website ;-)

Nice job even if I think all you're doing is taking a $100 gun and investing a lot to turn it into a $100 (I'm being generous because of the apparent quality of your work) bubba'ed gun.

Sorry, I'm not a bubba fan nor a Mosin fan. I just don't see the need for sinking a bunch of money into something that isn't going to shoot as well as something you can buy commercially for less.

That said, might I suggest putting something like an ALS billet stock on it and shooting it from a good front and rear rest combo? I'd be interested in seeing just how well it performs. The fore end looks almost perfect for BR shooting. Obviously, a wider fore end would be better but, your's should work fine. If you happen to shoot at Angeles, shoot me a PM. I might be able to bring a rest system for you to use.
