Beetle, I thought about picking up a Parker Hale peep sight but I don't want to have to permanently alter my No. 4 MkII. Let me know how it works for you.

My C&R project is remilitarizing a sporterized Enfield No. 1 Mk V. The first set of parts I ordered shipped out today but the most important ones, the forestock, hand guards, and front barrel band will be a future purchase when funds allow it.

I think I am going to bubba a Mosin.....not sure what I am thinking but I have a stock, and a friend can cut down and thread the barrel for me, then drill and tap the scope mount, new bolt.....yeah it's going to be all bad. I promise not to touch my M44, but the 91/30 is getting bubba'd

My 1912 Steyr-Hahn spits out about 3 live rounds after the first shot. I think it's the cartridge release but I can't figure out how to take it apart. Don't even know where to start.

Fitting and finishing a Boyd's walnut stock to my 1942 Swede M38. Yes, I have a military stockset for it. And a scout scope mount. If I ever take up deer hunting, this will be the rifle (with the scope).

Nice. I use my k31 with a clamp on scope mount for my deer rifle. Knocks them down pretty well.

I kind of prefer the practicality of nylon myself.

Wow! Your post just reminded me that I have my fathers old knife and I ran into the garage and sure enough, it's a Cattaraugus 225Q. I figured he might have had it in the service, but now that I know it's a combat knife, I'm sure that he had it with him when he and the 36th invaded the south of France.

for me i have found 0000 steel wool and very lightly scrubbing with Flaxseed oil does wonders without hurting the patina . It cleans, oils and protects.

Sorry I don't. That one shows about all you should need, they're pretty simple guns mechanically. I'll bet it's just the mag cartridge release that's giving you problems. Probably just grime caked in there.
Here's a good schematic that should show you what you need.

I've had luck w/ Minwax "Burgundy". I know, it doesn't look right if you goggle it, but it worked with my stock :-)
