The vast majority of Russians are refurbed. Very nice pick up. I have a lot of SKS rifles but I do not have an Izhevsk. Very nice pick up!

The Black Bolt is the easy giveaway. this was done during the refurb process.

The [/] stamp above the year on the receiver cover is a soviet refurb mark. that is the "official" way to tell.

sometimes you see them with the refurb mark but still with an unblackend bolt.

My knife Russian sky came with no black bolt. But looks brand new.

I would say any 99.9% Russian sks that looks dam new is a refurbished.

Neither bolt or bayonet was black BBQ paint

                          thanks, good info.

kinda like how the svts have a "plumb" colored bolt for the same reason

you're welcome. that is what the forum is for.

The Black SKS bolts are definitely darker than the plumb SVT bolts... although i have seen SKSs with that plumb color on the bolt before.
