    Question about receiving my Garand

Here's the situation. In March I ordered a Garand from CMP, and we all know how long that can take. So, I had Warrior 1 in riverside do the transfer, because I did not know if my 03 FFL would be approved. So fast forward to July and I have my 03 FFL and COE and the rifle was just delivered to Warrior 1. I already paid them for transfer and background check, which cannot be refunded, no biggie. Question is can I go to Warrior 1 with my 03 FFL AND COE and pick up the rifle same day? When I called last week the person was not too savy with C&R so I did not ask him. They are closed today so I just wanted some input from all of you.

AFAIK with 03 & COE you should be able to pick it up unless your FFL must do the DROS process since it is in their possession?

Good question, but I'm pretty sure they'll have to finish with the process since it's already been started. I'd imagine it'd create more problems if you tried to pick it up early. They still have paperwork to finish at the time of pick up.

You complete dros, pay tax, and take home the same day.

FFL should do DROS and 4473. During DROS it should be run as a C&R Long Gun and the waiting period exemption box should be checked and exemption marked as C&R+COE. You take home same day. It is essentially the same process as an LEO buying a gun and skipping the waiting period with a letter.

Ok so i went to pick up the rifle and brought copies of my FFL and COE. Guy was cool he had to call someone to make sure. I gave him the copies and he told my they are going to email me a pdf form. Not really sure what it is. Didnt do anything else and took the rifle home with me. So, did we miss a step? Ill find out what file he sends me tomorrow. After this part I still do my standard DOJ form with check for $19 right?

A 4473 should not be required since this is a transfer between licensees. However, a lot of dealers want to do one anyway.

Okay here is where im at with this. I call the shop and asked them what I paid for back in March, they said transfer fee, tax, Dros charge, but i actually did not do any paperwork. I couldnt have if I didnt have a rifle at the time. So, pretty much what happened in the end is 01 FFL releasing the rifle to 03 FFL, right? So, its like buying a Mosin from Big 5 or when i bought my SKS from classicfirearms.com, right? So, I still need to do my BOF 4100A form right?

If the FFL released the firearm to you without running the DROS then he violated California law. You should offer to take the rifle back to his shop and have him run the DROS so that he doesn't get penalized by CalDOJ during his next audit. The rifle will be registered to you during the DROS process.

I figured would be somewhat of a clusterF as Warrior1 seems to usually cater to mall ninjas and they probably rarely sell or encounter such guns or situations. I'd of probably went with Bullseye or Centerfire they have a nice mix of guns.

I know I usually never go to Warriorone, not sure why I did this time.
