    8MM Ammo Question

Hello everyone. I'm looking to pick up some non-corrosive for my K98, and was wondering if the M75 that Widener's has in stock right now (https://www.wideners.com/itemdetail....18%7c830%7c854) is corrosive or not. I've heard nothing but good things about this particular ammo and it supposed to be "the best" ever made. Does anyone have any experience with this stuff? Thanks.

I have shot several hundred rounds of this stuff and it is very nice ammo. I shoot it out of a K98 byf rifle out to about 200-300 yards (I know I could go farther but I don't). I usually treat any surplus from eastern european country as corrosive and clean when I get home using boiling water. I have not had a rust spot yet in the 3 years of shooting the m75 and never got around to test if it is corrosive. If you clean your rifle properly there would not be a problem with corrosive ammunition.

Nobody has done any official tests on that ammo yet so you will just have to assume it is corrosive. The M75 ammo from the mid 1980's is definitely corrosive. Why are you concerned about corrosive ammo in a bolt action?

IIRC it's corrosive but as long as you clean properly it's a non-issue.

Love that ammo, very good stuff. I bought a dozen boxes of it from Wideners. I treat it as corrosive, even though I don't know for a fact that it is. Why not, cleaning up after corrosive is just one extra step?

I'd just like to have a small non-corrosive pile I suppose. Would anyone happen to know if PPUs 8MM Match is comparable to the M75? I believe they are the same manufacturer?

Yugo M75 primer is always corrosive while brass is berdan.

PPU 8mm is boxer, same bullet weight, and a lower powder charge - somewhat gentle on the shoulder.

M75 is very good - its as close to the German s.S 198gr ammo
