to make sure that it didn't have a grenade launcher and the magazine of the Chinese type 56 to see if it had a detachable magazine before they would process my C&R self registration. Looks like another DOJ underground regulation as the law and self registration form doesn't say anything about submitting photos. They didn't ask for photos of the Winchester M1897 that was on the same form.

That does bring up an interesting point. What if you don't have a camera or Internet access or a phone. Since there is nothing in the law or on the form stating that you must submit a photo, I wonder how far they would go to inspect the weapon? The only reason this underground regulation is working for them is because people have the technology to make it easy for them. None of this technology is a requirement for having a 03FFL or COE.
